Letter from the President
Dear CMAA Houston Chapter Members,
As we reflect on the past year, I am proud to share the incredible progress and achievements our chapter has made. Last year was marked by remarkable growth, increased volunteerism, and a series of successful events that strengthened our community and advanced our mission.
Highlights from the year include:
- Hosting impactful events such as Transportation for Texans: Skies25 and Transit25.
- Celebrating International Women’s Day with Houston regional leaders.
- Sponsoring a Professional Construction Manager course to support professional development and certification from CMAA.
- Organizing memorable gatherings like the Clay Shoot and the Hardhatters Award Luncheon.
- Honoring excellence by awarding the Construction Manager of the Year to David Doran, CCM from Elevation Land Solutions and recognizing six outstanding Projects of the Year.
- Supporting future leaders through a scholarship awarded to Gabrielle Gunner from Houston Community College for her continued studies in construction management.
Looking ahead, our focus for next year is clear:
- Solidify our chapter’s organizational structure and align our bylaws with national standards.
- Continue hosting the same high-quality events as well as new events like the virtual breakfast round tables that bring value to our members.
- Drive engagement through increased scholarship
applications, more project award submittals, and preparing members for national
recognition.
As members and sponsors of the CMAA Houston Chapter, your dedication and participation make these accomplishments possible. Together, we will continue to elevate the construction management profession and strengthen our chapter’s impact in the greater Houston area.
Thank you for your commitment and support. Here’s to another year of growth and success!
Humbly,

R. Jeff Masek, PE, CCM
